FreeBSD UNIX
The UNIX Operating System (O/S) is the backbone of Virtual Private Server technology. FreeBSD is an advanced
BSD UNIX O/S developed and maintained by some of the industries' best software engineers. The FreeBSD project encompasses
many years of development, the result of which is an extremely powerful and stable O/S. FreeBSD's
open source ensures that these development efforts will be continued well into the future.
In addition to FreeBSD, we also use Solaris UNIX for some of our
Virtual Private Servers. If you don't know which version of UNIX your Virtual Private Server uses, use the
uname command to find out.
